About me

I am Mathieu, diabetic since 1996 and passionate about IT professions and health related to diabetes. As a father, I have often asked myself the question of the risk of transmitting the disease to one of my children. Even though this remains a very remote possibility, I was left with one question: As a dad, would I be able to give my child a normal life if he became diabetic. I think that many parents in this situation come to this famous question of what life will be like, the adventures, the struggles and the difficulty of the illness. My appetite for new technologies and of course my skills in IT professions allowed me to work on the code for AAPS, an “open source” closed loop system. 4 years ago, I created the first version of an AAPS plugin, capable of making a number of additional decisions compared to the original plugin. What was initially supposed to be a modification to see what it was possible to do, became 4 years later the use of machine learning and intelligence in decision-making, integrating a pattern and finally a little more user data , such as heart rate or automatic consideration of physical activity.

If I have lost some readers on the previous two sentences, I will say it another way, AAPS, an open source closed loop is the initiative of a group of people in the world, whose main objective is to give a normal life to people with diabetes. This translates into the ability to cope with a day full of professional, family and passion twists and turns, without illness being an obstacle to almost normality.

My objective here is to give you access to this technology by training you in its use. I know how difficult it can be when you are techno-allergic and have no one to guide you. This is where I come in, supporting you at each stage over a number of weeks adapted to the client. A normal life also means a return to an HBA1C which is close to normal for a Type 1 diabetic, or even lower if you show some form of rigor. Mine is at 5.4%.

AAPS, in a closed loop, is on average more than 90% of the time within the 70-180 target, making nearly 200 decisions for you.

Obviously this support does not replace your doctor, it simply intervenes where the doctor stops, whether on training in open source technologies, but also on the implementation of simple daily routines which make the difference on daily blood sugar management.

Ready for the first step?

Your journey to more peaceful diabetes management starts with a simple conversation. I offer you a free 15-minute discovery session, where we can discuss your challenges and aspirations. This will be an opportunity to see if we are made to collaborate together.

If you feel ready to dive a little deeper, I invite you to book an initial one-hour consultation. This time will be dedicated to you, your history with diabetes, and above all, to the detailed assessment of your current management of the disease and your level of familiarity with available technologies. This is a crucial step because it lays the foundation for our work together by allowing me to understand where you are in your journey.

This mutual understanding is vital, it illuminates the path that we will trace together, adapted to your needs, your objectives and your daily life. More than just a consultation, consider this the first step towards a new way of approaching your diabetes, with me by your side to decipher, simplify and navigate the complexity of technology.

I am here to support you, and this first commitment is the cornerstone on which we will build.Make an appointment today for your discovery session or your in-depth consultation, and let's begin together this journey towards a life where diabetes no longer defines you by its many variations, but is integrated into your daily life without disrupting its flow.

Our specializations

I offer pragmatic and targeted support for diabetics. Living with this disease means knowing how to juggle for 24 hours without dropping a pin or a ball, which is often impossible. My support will help you adopt simple habits to start the day, will allow you to use tools such as the AAPS closed loop to lighten your mental load and return to an HB1C or a time within the target symbol of balance. PS: the installation of the closed loop is training which makes you autonomous in carrying out this task which remains your decision as a diabetic patient. It is important to understand that this will only be possible if you are equipped with a blood glucose sensor and a compatible insulin pump.. Each support will be adapted to the difficulty you encounter in these complex tasks. This support does not replace your doctor, no diagnosis will be made, no treatment will be modified.

A simple example of the benefits of closed loop, when you sleep it will adjust the amount of insulin needed, keeping you on target for the first quarter of the day and allowing you to get a real night's sleep.
